is the initiator of the Soulsurf project. He is a passionate soulsurfer and has studied sport science with a major in sports therapy. Working in the area of back pain prevention and health promotion for about 15 years, he became increasingly interested in the complementary use of various disciplines and the synergetic effects that arise from cross linking: “The alchemic combination of the different fields that make the Soulsurf Experience has been a dream of mine for many years now. With the help of so many inspiring and excellent activists from the body-mind-soul and culture-music-art world, the Soulsurf Experience is happening for the 4th time now!”
“I developed a strong affinity towards water at about the same age as I learned to walk. I was training to hold my breath in the bathtub every day. With twelve years of age I fell in love with the waves of the atlantic ocean on canary islands, where the locals showed me how to bodysurf. For around the same time, I have my first memories of celebrating musical vibes through dance. As an erasmus student in Portugal, I studied physical therapy for a year and I learned sweedish massage techniques. Also in Portugal, a befriended surfer gave me my first yoga lesson which had a great impact on both, my personal life path and my professional way. The philosophical inspirations of the yoga world, breathwork, somatic awareness, and the desire to embody a liberated and dancing soul drew me to contact improvisation dance. Which has become ever since my yoga practice and is to me one of the biggest treasures I discovered in the past years.”

Oskar is an acrobat/mover specialized in different circus disciplines. He is the founder of the finnish contemporary circus company Sirkus Aikamoinen that has toured across Europe from Iceland to Portugal. He has studied circus in Turin in Scuola di Circo FLIC and in Finland in the Salpaus circus school.
In contact improvisation I found so many new qualities in my movement and so many ways to combine it to the movement techniques from circus. One could say a new way to relate to movement in general. I hope to share what I have found. www.sirkusaikamoinen.com ww.sirkusaikamoinen.fi

Vega (Katri Luukkonen)
I am dancer, dance-teacher, performance-artist and bodyworker made in Finland, but currently based in Berlin, India, and nomadic temporary moments in time and space. From the formal side of my life I have studied in Finland – in Theatre Academy of Finland (TEAK) and Metropolia AMK, graduated from TEAK 2008 as dance- and theatre-teacher (MA). Though – I guess my dearest high-school and university in dance and contact-improvisation has been finnish contact community, where I have learned so much, by sharing the dance and rolling point with the other spiralling beautiful finns…
About 15 years I have been teaching contact and dance all around the world, on many internationally acknowledged festivals and retreats, and especially recent years more focused on organising my own workshops, events and festivals. I am one of the organisers of Goa Contact Festival since 8 years, and that has become big part of my life - to live in India, to create platforms and possibilities for cultural exchange, dance and learning - throughout the whole season in Arambol, as I have spent my last 13 winters in India.
Contact Improvisation has been in my life 26 years, so – many kind of chapters I have gone through. More and more I look for lightness and grace in my dance – in the sense of organic, fluid, effortless and integrated movement. I love to find ease and smoothness in my dance, like water would do. Breath plays as well big part in my dancing, brings me naturally into moments of momentum, falling, flying, suspension, swinging, accelerating and bouncing. Other precious topic for me is the spine, never ending story with our head & tail, and the whole dialogue between them. Life-energy flowing through our spiralling, reaching, twisting spines – integrated and synchronised with our breath.
My dance is drawing inspirations from aikido and capoeira – loving all these spirals up & down, and deep understanding about the role of the center in our movement. Developmental movement patterns and flying low for all the lovely floor rolling-sliding-gliding-fun. Bodywork & massage for softening, surrendering and meeting. Listening our whispering fascias. Spicing up the soup with meditation and authentic movement, to look from inside out – to connect with our emotions, intuition and felt sensations. For me dance is always combination of technique and intuition. Form and freedom. Being and doing. I try to find ways to explore and teach technique by understanding the underlying principles of movement, so that we can stay connected to our dance and expression, and learn in the spirit of exploration. Where our curiosity can stay alive, and we can always find new details on the way. Vega on Facebook www.goacontactfestival.com www.in-touch.es

Adrian is a sociologist, passionate community organizer and enthusiastic activist in the field of partner acrobatics. He is coordinating the helpers participating in the Soulsurf workexchange-program.
Adrian´s movement practice started in 2006 when he began training Muay Thai. While sports and body training had not played a big role in his childhood, now that he had found a fitting practice, it quickly became a passion. In the following years he picked up Lindy Hop, to include a more rhythmical form of movement and in 2011 he finally discovered what would become his core discipline: partner acrobatics. His teaching style is strongly colored by his mail arts and dance background and his teaching didactics through his work as a translator and interpreter. The focus of Adrian’s classes is the exploration of the body’s full range of motion to build confidence, strength and ease in solo as well as partner movement.
